Situated just a mile from the heart of the city, Southacre Drive comprises 12 flats. Adjacent properties are located in Chaucer Road and Latham Road. The area is surrounded by Coe Fen, fields leading down to the River Cam, which create a unique rural character for such a convenient city location. The wonderful Botanic Garden is just a few hundred yards away, and Southacre Drive has its own magnificent communal garden.
The site is less than 5 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop, less than ten minutes' walk to local shops, and less than 15 minutes walk from the city centre.
The accommodation comprises both furnished and unfurnished flats. Furnished flats come with blinds or curtains to the windows, carpet on the floors, beds and mattresses, wardrobes, dining table and chairs, sofa and armchair, vacuum cleaner, oven, hob and a fridge. Tenants are expected to provide their own bedding, towels, cutlery, crockery, kitchen equipment, electrical items (kettle, television), etc. The flats do not have microwaves. Unfurnished flats come with an oven and hob, fridge, curtain rails and carpets.
The flats have gas central heating and hot water systems, and electric cookers. There are no washing machines provided although tenants may install their own in their flats. Communal tumble drying facilities are located on the ground floor.
There are two lockable bike storage facilities, and garages are available at extra cost, subject to availability. These flats are suitable for postgraduate students, visiting academics and staff, and priority is given to those who are new to Cambridge.
